This ancient piece from the National Museum of Handiwork  is a favorite of Mrs. Aplux and has inspired many of her own pieces.

Brief Encounter

 

I go on neighborhood walks.  A lot of dogs do too.  I love watching them.  Here I felt inspired by a very joyful meeting.

From left to right:  Sam, Eva, David and Yael.  Done from memory.  The dog jumping in a garbage can is an inside joke that maybe Eva and Sam will remember.  I don't, but it was very funny.   (2005)

4 Dudes

How fun it is to find drawings I had completely forgotten.  Obviously I was in a playful mood.  What is funny to me is how the second character looks just like my little brother David.  (I remember that he agreed.)

Next drawing from my old notebook.  I was playing with different pens and pencils lying around at my mother's apartment.   I even wonder if the reddish lines were not black originally.

The Companion again

 

Felt like retrying yesterday's drawing.  Here is the Queen's beloved companion again.

Note:  I cannot sustain my drawing-a-day while working on the finishes of my book.  I will reluctantly put this drawing exercise on hold.  In the meantime I will post images from old notebooks.  

The Friend

 

The Queen and her friend have known each other for many years.  They take walks together and talk.  (Food, the human brain, family issues, literature, art, health insurance.)

Inspired by the last piece in Risa and Laird's Ganesha collection.  The tenderness of the gesture spoke to me.  Plus I like elephants.

3 Hairy Trees

 

At Omi recently, enjoyed many pieces.  Among them 2 groupings of 3 trees.  One  of them 3 black burned trunks.  The other 3 trees made of layers of flat strips, one white, one blue and one red.  I like groupings of 3.
